Small renovation job
Job description
We need structural advice on a small room/nook area in the upstairs of our two-storey house. It is approx 3m x 3m. We are about to re-carpet this area. When a designer came to quote on the carpet; she asked why there was a step/the area was raised. There appears to be no structural reason - and so we are considering lowering/levelling this floor to create more space in the room. So we are looking for: 1) advice on the feasability/structural implications and 2) a quote on completing the job.

Would definitely use Steve again. The first stage of the renovation job was feasibility (whether we could structurally level a floor area). Steve investigated this for us by lifting part of the floor - promptly and at a very good cost - and we all agreed it wasn't feasible. Steve was knowledgeable and personable, and I would recommend him to others.
