RFIs needing to be answered are as follows 1) E3 - Please verify the shower spaces comply with the NZBC E3 Internal moisture. Please verify if the shower bases are level entry and/or an enclosed space with doors. Please note The Bathroom shows a shower with a window (W03) in the shower. E3/AS1 does not allow for windows within the zone 1500mm from the shower rose or less than 300mm above the shower rose and a minimum of 1800mm above the floor of the shower. Internal window components are not considered to be an impervious surface. Please amend drawings to be in in accordance with E3/AS1 Section --- and figure 5 OR provide an Alternative Solution Report including full construction details to demonstrate compliance. These details must clarify the impervious surfaces, how these will be easily cleaned, and prevent water penetration into concealed spaces where the window is located within the shower enclosure. Please provide more details showing shower entrances, doors and window details for compliance with E3 2) E3 - Please revise drawings to show how the flooring in the kitchen area complies with the NZBC E3 Internal moisture.( 5/Nov 2020 ) Please refer to minimum requirements of E3/AS1 clause 3.1 Lining materials & 3.1.1 Floors 3) G4 - Please show on the drawings how mechanical ventilation to the bathrooms and laundry space is achieved to comply with the NZBC G4. Ventilation Please note --- requires mechanical extracts in all sanitary rooms with showers/baths. The mechanical ventilation for the toilet/bathrooms and laundries will require a minimum air change of which ever is the greater of 25 litres per second per fixture or 10 litres per second per square metre and should be wired to a switch incorporating a run-on system for a minimum of 5 minutes after the switch is turned off. Any dryers ( unless condensing ) installed above the washing machines in the laundry cupboard shall be vented separately directly to the outside. Any external grilles and flashing's installed shall be installed to meet the requirements of the NZBC clauses B2 Durability and E2 External Moisture and NZS --- - Please provide specifications for the proposed gas works and installation of the gas appliances to comply with the NZBC G11 and G10 Please note An energy certificate will be required on completion prior to a code of compliance certificate 5) G12 - 1/ Please provide manufactures specifications and installation instructions of the proposed califont 2/ Please confirm the delivered hot water temperature at any sanitary fixture used for personal hygiene shall not exceed 55°C. 6) H1 - 1/ Please confirm all new hot water pipework to the kitchen sink shall be thermally insulated to comply with the requirements of Energy Efficiency H1/AS1 Clause 3.1 Hot Water Systems and NZS 4305 Energy efficiency. 2/ Please show details the water heater is to be sited in accordance with the requirements of Energy Efficiency H1/AS1 Clause 5.0 Hot Water Systems and NZS 4305 . Please note The requirements of NZS 4305 clause 3.2 Pipe - runs are stated. The developed length of pipe run between the water heater and the kitchen sink outlet are set as below: Nominal pipe size 10mm 15mm 20m 7) B1/B2/E3 - Cavity slider door entrance to the ensuite bathroom Tiled walls - As the cavity pocket for the cavity slider by the ensuite bathroom is outside the scope if NZS3604, it will not comply with B1 to support the additional weight of the tiles. Please revise the detail to provide an alternative solution. Options - SED design for a rigid support under the plasterboard or Proprietary cavity frames (eg. CS Cavity Slider). Please also provide manufacturer's literature for the proprietary system option. 8) E2 - Window details - We note that there are new windows in the same position as before. Please provide window details to comply with E2. Please note: If this schedule one work, please not this on the drawings. If not, please include details of the window head, jamb and sill & update the certificate of design works memorandum to include wall cladding. 9) F2 - Glazing in windows - We note there are existing windows in the shower areas. Given the position and it's located in a wet area, please specify safety glass as per NZS4223 to comply with F2. 10) F2- Shower enclosure glazing - Glazing in bathrooms, including glazing in the shower enclosure is to be compliant with NZS 4223.3. Please confirm and add notes to the drawings.
