Hi There, I am currently in the middle of building a new house on a section out in Huapai. Our section is a corner site and we were looking to fence what we had planned to be our back yard 1.8M but being a corner section the council is considering this to be a front yard and therefore subject to a maximum 1.2M fence with the top .2 being visually permeable. Our concerns are that will give us no privacy and no block from street noise and car headlights in our bedroom. We will still have a sizeable area and main living/kitchen area open to the street to be a "front yard" as such which we think will meet the requirement of passive neighbourhood surveillance as per a middle section. They have recommend we seek independent advise from a planning consultant to apply for resource consent for this so was wondering if you may be able to help? Look forward to hearing from you. Regards Chris
