value loss of land

I had a small slip at the back of a house. The house is not endangered. EQC's estimate of the repair is $40k (Likely can do it for much less). The loss of land is assessed at about $1k. IMHO it devalues the property much less than that. I could barely get soil delivered (and probably not barrowed to the slip site) for that. I need an assessor to come up with a more appropriate valuation.
