We have a sump pump in our house's sub-floor area, which doesn't seem to be draining effectively (the sub-floor is flooding substantially - up to 2 feet of water currently — 2 June). We think we need the sump pump looked at, to confirm whether repair/maintenance is possible and may fix our issue. If repairing/maintaining the sump isn't likely to resolve the flooding on its own we're also interested in understanding what our other options may be. Photos of the sump from after a previous flood have been included, alongside 2x photos of the flooding today. A few notes: 1. This is the second time we've had substantial flooding — the last time was when Wellington experienced heavy rain in mid-February this year. 2. We've been at this property for almost four years, and haven't had the sump maintained during that period. 3. The sub-floor is dirt, and is accessible through a hatch in the side of the house. 4. Video of the current state of the sub-floor (from the hatch) and how much the pipe associated with the sump is draining are available.

Good communication — via Builderscrack and directly. Given some staff changes due to Covid the New Vision Enterprises team were much more responsive than we expected and were arranged to do the work as more information on our situation was discovered. The work involved an assessment by a drainlayer, and then follow-up with a plumber who resolved our issue and made recommendations for what we should do next. Great service, and a really well-spoken and empathetic team.
