I'd like a quote for replacing a hot water cylinder that is near failing. The hot water cylinder is installed in the roof of the upper flat of a 2-storey villa build 1906. The hot water cylinder is above the ceiling of the bathroom. The flat has 2 bedrooms. The hot water cylinder thermostat no longer is providing the indicated temperature, and there is significant rust around the thermostat area, so I'm expecting a failure to occur in the near-term. Access to the ceiling is through a trap-door above the bath, there is no other in/out. I have a fitted piece of wood that sits over the bath to allow a ladder access into the trapdoor. The scope of the job I'm expecting is: - Removal of the existing hot water cylinder (I can dispose of if cheaper); - Providing a replacement hot water cylinder approx one one five to one thirty litre, mains pressure (unless you think low or medium pressure is suitable); - Install the hot water cylinder in the roof space above bathroom; - Any thermal wrapping required by law or recommended; - Complete all piping to hot water cylinder as required. The property is on the street and access is up 2 concrete flights of stairs. There is coupon parking on the street. It is tenanted currently. The tenants are flexible with installation times and kindly very amenable. For info there is an existing (very dated) regulator valve on the mains water supply. Photos provided of the existing cylinder.
