Urgent: Water pipe leaking, joint needs replacing

I just received a truly horrible bill from Watercare and have tracked it back to a leak under the house where the water pipe comes in from outside. The joiner between pipes itself seems to be failing and needs to be replaced. We're not flooded but clearly need to get this fixed as soon as possible - i.e. today or tomorrow by preference.
