Replace shower waste trap

Our shower leaked last week so I've dried the carpets, taken the old trap off, bought a new waste trap but unable to push the compression adapter onto the metal wastepipe. The small space makes it too tight for us females to push it on, so I need someone to finish the job please?

"It was great to have Mitchell available to come and help us out. We were sold a part that just wouldn't fit the pipe. Mitchell knew the problem , luckily had the part, installed it and joined the shower waste to the existing pipe. Fantastic!"
