Disconnect laundry sink then reconnect

I have a top loading washing machine. My new home has a full bench top so I need the bench top with sink disconnected while the bench top is cut, edges fixed, and then put back again with the sink reconnected. I have someone who will do the cutting and fixing of the edges, so just need a plumber to disconnect and later reconnect the sink. Thank you, Helma
