Raise vent on roof to remedy odour issue

We have an odour issue in our main bathroom that has been diagnosed as a venting issue. Our vent appears to meet the Aussie standards but not NZ’s. A plumber who visited said he would try and raise the vent like chimneys are for similar problems, however after 2 attempts to get him to follow through I would like to find another plumber who may be willing to try this, or offer alternative options.
