Be aware of communicating cost over run. We were okay to pay but did not anticipate 20% cost over run/variation

Tradesperson reply
"-Hard fill supplied is always extra as it is a variable, this was tagged out in the initial quotation. -there was extra drainage work carried out as an existing, buried downpipe line was in the path of the new sewer line installation. Hence there being a cost over run on this job. -I always do my best to keep to the initial costing on all jobs but sometimes there is extra work/materials required outside my quotation from which the cost gets passed on."
