Backyard drainage problem

We have a drainage problem in our backyard where the water pools against the wall during raining season. We are considering having subsoil drain installed along the wall and connect to an existing cesspit but am concern there may not be enough depth. We need advice from a drainlayer to see whether this is the way to go or should we consider other drainage options.
