drainage for our downsprout

We are planning a patio. however our downsprout seems to be going directly into the ground. ( where the concrete is going to be). we have had someone come by to look at relocation our down sprout. However I want advise about new drainage system as I am not sure of our current system is legal ( from previous owners) by building standards
