Install a stove and bench

Posted 6 years ago

Hi, looking to have a new oven installed and a bench put in above it. Dimensions are 860 wide by 600 deep. Need to have nice tidy job of the surround for the oven, and would also like some advice on the bench surface. Time and materials job, any reasonable rate considered as long as the job is neat and tidy. Ideally you would be able to skim the wall as well but that is not essential - it can be done after the installation. Electrics will be done by separate electrician. Photos show job bel...

Hi, I currently have a built in wardrobe in my son's room with a width measuring about 300cm. The height from the architrave to the floor is 197cm and the internal height of the wardrobe is approx 217cm. I'd like to essentially cut the wardrobe in half leaving one half as a wardrobe with hanging space and 2 shelves underneath and an alcove in the other half. You'd need to: 1. Remove the fittings for the currently sliding doors 2. Put up eg. MDF in the middle of exisitng wardrobe 3. reuse the...

Small plaster and medium paint job

Posted 7 years ago

An electrician has wired up a small alcove (with electrical power sockets and a phone line) off my open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area so that I can use it as my office/computer area. I need a little plaster retouching/sanding and quotes for repainting a laundry, garage and alcove off the lounge. My concern is that the lounge/dining area has all been spray gun painted in one go. I need someone to assess whether I can get away with spray painting just the alcove to match the existing paint...

Smallish gib stopping job

Posted 7 years ago

We had an old "through the wall" Kent woodburner removed a few years back and had gib board put in to fill the gap left in both the lounge and dining room walls as well as plugging the hole in the ceiling from the old flue. But we have never got around to getting the gib taped, stopped and plastered etc. So we would like someone to come and do this for us. We do have a high ceiling in our dining room so stopping over the old flue site will involve being on a ladder.
