I have just purchased my own home and all rooms have crackle texture type ceilings. I would like them all redone to modern flat/smooth finish. I need to know whether they can be plastered straight on top or if gibboard is required to cover first as asbestos may be present due to the age of house. Depending on cost I may do room by room or entire house at once. I think the floor plan of house is 90m2 but kitchen and bathroom don't have this ceilings type so its two bedrooms, lounge and hallway.
