A 2.5 m x 2.5 m church kitchen is to be refurbished. The work is planned to start on Monday 21 May and complete on Friday 1 June. The plasterboard installation will consist of: (a) installing new Gibboard on existing 2.5 m x 2.5 m ceiling framing (the existing ceiling tiles will have been removed beforehand) and (b) doing some plasterboard repair work on three walls after the existing kitchen bench is removed and electric wiring as been run. (c) stopping of new ceiling and wall repairs to paint quality finish. The plasterboard work is scheduled for Thursday 24 and Friday 25 May to fit in with the overall programme. Commitment to this schedule is essential. FYI: Work done prior to the plasterboard work: stripping of kitchen bench, running of cables to power points and stove isolator. Work afterwards: painting, kitchen cabinets installed, and under-bench plumbing and wiring.

I obtained two prices for this job and Dave's price was half that of the other one. Dave's quality of work was reflected in his price: it was poor. As a result I engaged another tradesman to paint the kitchen. This should teach me to be wary of low bids.
