Lounge gib install

Hey there, My lounge is approx 27m2 and I'd like some gib installed on the ceiling. It currently has pinex tiles installed but not sure if it'd be best to remove them first or install over them instead. We've removed the crown molding as we're going to get it stopped flush as well. I've bought 13mm gib already and should be able to clear everything out of the room. The carpet/skirting is going to get replaced/painted so not too worried about drop sheets etc if it's easier.
