Replace Gib Ceiling

I have a problem with a bathroom ceiling 2.5 x 3.6 that needs re-gibbing. I repainted my slightly soiled bathroom ceiling which had developed a blister above the shower. I washed, scraped off, sanded, re-plastered and re-primed using the same top coat paint system as original. (house is 15 years old no previous rework. Low VOC ceiling paint system for use over Aqualine gib.) After a few weeks the whole coating began to blister and crack off down to the green gib. I watched it develop for a few months before concluding that the paint system's own solvent had softened the underlying layers and their adhesion to the Aqualine gib and then began to peel off. Unfortunately this was not a clean peel and I resorted to a paint stripper (Citristrip) to get the whole coating off without attacking the green gib. This has been inadequate, and expensive, and I cannot get the coating off without damaging the green gib. Rather than waste money on cleaning it all up it seems easier and cheaper to replace the Aqualine gib - but using the best solvent based primer for the green gib, followed by an appropriate paint top coat. The job includes removing the coving without damaging the walls, removing the ceiling gib, reinstalling gib, batts, new coving, plastering, and preparing for painting. Four down lights plus a fan light will need to be removed and reinstalled. The painting work can be included or excluded to suit - as in I am happy to do the painting part myself, but equally happy to have it done as part of the job. The work needs to be started within next 1-3 weeks and must be completed within 1 week as we will still be living in the house. As superannuitants we are asking for a competitive quote, but the care taken and the quality of the finished job is more important than the cost.
