House Seal Up

There have been rats in the roof space. Put poisons up last year but ended up having dead rats in the roof. Since I was not able to locate the entry they come back again. I recently found very suspicious gaps, I need someone to, 1. Locate all the holes 2. Seal them all up (steel wool and concrete?) 3. Set traps to kill rats trapped inside the roof. Or it would be nicer to leave one entry open and install a one-way door, seal it up after they are all gone? Thank you.
