exterior of house, paint peeling off, badly needs painting

The house is 110sq meters. I need the exterior painted. The home was built in 1920 and I don't think it has been painted since then. So, a lot of the paint on the exterior surface has flaked off, exposing the original timber. I would appreciate it very much if you could give me a ballpark figure on how much to prepare and paint this home would cost. I've received one quote, which I think is extremely expensive, and I don't think it is correct, as it is nearly the cost of the home itself.
