We started painting our roof this summer and managed to complete the verandah roof but have stalled at the main roof. The material is coloursteel and it's not in bad condition, (no flaky rust patches) but does have a couple of patches of lichen and some of that black stuff that scrubs off fairly easily but is quite slippery. On the lower roof we washed using Resene metal cleaner, then used the oil based primer they suggested for painted coloursteel surfaces, then 2 coats of waterbased roof paint (black). The issue is safety. We have an extension ladder bolted to the house / deck for access but don't have a chimney so I had a harness attached to the verahdah on one side and the fascia on the other but I doubt this would pass OSH standards! I'm interested in a quote to get the roof washed, primed and painted. Thanks!
