Paint new life into old decks on a fine NZ wooden yacht
Job description
I own a classic 30-foot wooden yacht - a Townson 30. It's on a marina berth at Half Moon Bay in East Auckland and has just had the bottom and topsides painted. Now she's back in the water I'd like the decks prepared and painted with a good quality marine single-pot paint (International product or similar). As she's a very original classic sloop from 1965 I'd like a painter who is experienced in working around boats and sensitive to the craftsmanship that made and maintained her all these years. Cheers. Alvid from Renovinators was very pleasant and professional to deal with. He understood how much care I wanted to take with our precious yacht. He persuaded the paint manufacturer to mix-up the colour (outside of their normal range) and worked hard to complete the project on schedule during the very busy Christmas / New Year period. Apart from a couple of small areas needing touch-up and some paint marks on fittings which I'd have preferred were masked off I'm very happy with the end result.
