Install drainage in residential garden

Posted 6 years ago

I have a new exposed ag concrete path going up to my house. The fall of the path was laid so that rainwater falls into the garden beside the path. I now have a bog instead of a garden. The path/garden is about 15m long. The original landscaper has not replied to my phone calls asking him to do this drainage, for 3 weeks now. I have given up and need a new landscaping contractor to probably dig a trench, lay some metal and nova coil (or fix the problem!)

Backyard landscaping and paving

Posted 6 years ago

Our small backyard is sloped. We would like to level it and pave about a third of it. The remaining two thirds would be grassed. Because of the slope of the yard, it will probably need a "step-down" part in the grassed area; ie, the current slope is probably too great to completely make it all one level, it will need to be two levels. Hopefully the photos show roughly what is envisaged. The paved area will measure approximately 3.75m x 11m. It will involve removing a small area of ex...

Shed Removal

Posted 7 years ago

I have an old shed in backyard that I want taken away. The shed is approx 5m x 2m and has a timber frame built onto a concrete pad. I've been told the exterior cladding might be asbestos so whoever removes the shed would have to know how to remove this stuff. I want the entire shed taken away leaving only the concrete pad. I would like a nice clean job with no mess as I have small children and don't want them standing on debris (nails) that are left behind. I have attached photos....

Garden maintenance - regular

Posted 7 years ago

We have our own property and two rentals (both old villas) that require ongoing garden maintenance. We've happily done our own gardening for years but a sudden change in the hubby's health 10 months ago has meant a drastic change to our lifestyles. Still years out from retirement we have had to make some tough decisions - like getting our gardening done by others. Tenants always promise to keep up with the gardens but never do. With most of our time spent back and forth from doctors and hospital...

Remove lawn, level, plant new lawn, add a little drainage

Posted 7 years ago

The lawn I put in last summer has settled, is patchy, and doesn't drain as well as it should in some areas. I would like someone to: - Remove the top 5cm or so of grass and soil and discard it - Do any required drainage (there's already quite a bit in there) - Lay topsoil to get a very level finish - Plant grass (and advise on the best variety for the area) - Advise on care and maintenance The lawn had grass grub, though it's been treated it may need to be done again - I have the ma...

If you email me I will email a photo. Its not a large lawn with very easy access. Ideas please. Steve

LANDSCAPING / GARDEN CONSTRUCTION

Posted 7 years ago

We have three areas that need immediate work: 1. Side of the House – A low wall (approximately 500mm high) the length of the house in front of an existing retaining wall is needed. The resulting ‘narrow garden’ would be home to a hedge so appropriate drainage is required. The path down the side of the house also needs work, including developing a slight slope so that water moves away from the house and drains away appropriately. 2. Back Lawn – This area also needs a low wall (approximately...
