Landscaping of front yard
Job description
We have put in a deck in the front of our house but, at present, it is surrounded by weeds. We want the weeds cleared off, and then weed matting put down - probably with grasses and bark over the top. But we have no idea what we're doing, so we need some guidance and help. We want someone to come and have a look at the area, tell us what they think will work best (there is a slope, so there may be some issues), and then do the work for us.

He certainly kept to the cost stated and the timetable we requested, which was great. However, insufficient bark was put down (weed matting was clearly visible) and we had to buy more and top it up ourselves. Also, the weed matting did not appear to be secured down with anything, so it began to pull up and blow around. Bill had said he'd come back in a week or two to re-spray the weeds - he didn't. The weeds began to come up in the gaps very quickly and that was disappointing. However, the plants have taken well and look good. I think it was probably a problem with under-quoting. He should have quoted more and done a better job - we should have paid more and we'd have got a better job, I think.
