On the other side is a 6x2 inch timber retainer so no need for an edge there either. just lay the concrete to the timber edge. the garden soil will need to be dug out and some base prep done for the new concrete. there is a steel edge screwed down on the concrete side which needs...

Landscape paving - lift and relay tiles.

Paving Flagstaff, Hamilton

There are two adjacent paved areas which have 600 x 600 X 2cm thick pavers. They have shifted and they need to be lifted off, the sand base leveled and any fresh paving sand added as needed, and the tiles re-laid. Add jointing sand to finish. That completes the job. The paved areas are contained within a soft polypropylene edging that contains the sand on to of a 100mm compacted base. The tiles have plastic gap discs under and not sure if they can be reused or if not required then remove. Th...

My sloped backyard is a nightmare

General Landscaping Grandview Heights, Hamilton

This backyard is the bane of my existence. I hate it. It is a sloped backyard with a whole bunch of stupid trees and shrubs (some of the trees aren't stupid) I've been thinking about getting it fully retained, but it seems to be quite a costly option. Another idea is to maybe get it retained at the top (at 1m, to hold my section) - reinforce/redo the steps that go down - take out some of the undesirable trees/plants and replant with low/no maintenance plants instead. Honestly I don't even k...
