Reinforce retaining wall

Job description

Landscape Retaining Walls (Below 1.5m) Meadowbank, Auckland

Published on 27th April 2026

I have a 1.5m high timber retaining wall where the corner join has separated. The posts are still firmly set in the ground, but one section is rotating outward, creating a gap that is wider at the top.
The timber boards and posts are in good nick. I am looking for a conservative structural solution to pull the wall back into alignment or stabilize it in its current position to prevent further movement like tie-back anchors or a deadman into the bank. Or maybe some structural bracing of the corner junction.
Might also need some root removal to relieve pressure as there was a lime tree planted there.
I would prefer a repair strategy over a full rebuild.
