We live in a townhouse, where we're all connected horizontally. We have a small backyard (approx 20㎡ - 25㎡) that we would like to improve. The ground is basically clay (almost feels like gravel), with weeds being the only thing that can grow in the ground. We've pulled out all the weeds we can, sprayed it and there's currently a weed mat down as you can see in the photos. We have 4 obstructions in the yard. One being our small water tank (grey thing at the back of the 2nd photo), a outdoor tab and drain (3rd photo), a drain close to the deck on the left (4th photo) and something else (I genuinely don't know what it is) to the right of the deck, slightly away from it (5th & 6th photo). There's also a retaining wall at the back, where we don't want to do anything with other than updating the plants in there later. What we are imagining we could do with this space is have wooden garden walls on the left and right side of the yard, where the left side will have relatively tall shrubs/trees (sorry, not sure which one) to give us a bit of privacy from our neighbours. Worth to note, the left side has bricks under the fence as you can probably make out in the photos. The right side in contrast doesn't need tall trees/shrubs as it's harder for neighbours on the right to look in. We haven't decided on what kind of plants we want to use just yet. We would like the garden walls to be tall enough, and the top of the walls to be wide enough, to utilise for seating. Then for between the garden walls, we would like pavers put down. We're not fussed on patterns or anything like that, we would just like some solid ground to be able to put our table and chairs onto. The issue with this I realise, is going to be those 4 obstructions I mentioned earlier. I'm not sure how these ideas will work with them, but this is also something I would very much like to be advised on as well.

Jon did an incredible job sorting our small garden. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and quick to reply to any questions. He even suggested options to reduce the cost of the original quote as well, without prompting. It didn't take him long at all to complete the work and my husband and I love sitting out there with our morning coffee. Thank you Jon.
