Wall removal and beam placement

Would like to remove wall to annex to enlarge master bedroom. Wall originally formed part of outer shell and is therefore likely to be load bearing. I assume this means putting in a beam in place of the wall. Keen to find out more about what this involves and how much it's going to cost. Cheers
