We are attempting to get a heat pump installed in our home using the EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes Programme. We have a house built in the 70's still with the original fireplace as it's only source of heating, and it is unusable. In order to be eligible for the grant towards a heat pump, we need to have a letter from a builder stating that the current fireplace we have is outdated and damaged (there are cracks in the back of it), and therefore that it would be safer for the fireplace to not be used. Just looking for someone to briefly to come and look at our fireplace, then confirm it's unusable by writing and signing a letter, so we can give proof to EECA. We have already spoken to EECA and they have asked us not to light it as it sounds unsafe. Many thanks
