Villa, 2-sided, open brick fireplace inspection

Recently purchased new home on Heads Road. Has open fireplace in lounge, which I’m told by previous tenants and property manager works well. Would like an inspection, to confirm fire safety. And perhaps someone who can advise on the state of the brick chimney... The fireplace also backs into the master bedroom. It had been covered by previous renovations - perhaps as many as 30 years ago. I have removed the gib covering, to expose the brick fireplace and sparking above and surrounding. Ideally, i’d Like to install a wooden mantle and fireplace surround, and “touch-up” / replace / renovate the bricks. I’d like an initial consultation on this work - if possible - and perhaps help achieving the plan. Thanks. James
