Repairing floor board under carpet

Job description

General Handyman Tasks
Wellington

In my bedroom I was doing chair exercises, and one of the floor boards underneath the carpet gave out. The bent plank of wood (or depression I nthe carpet) measures about 30 cm long and 10cm wide (by feel) from above the carpet. This is an old house and there is wood rot in other parts of the house, making it a delicate house. One tradie told me there's potentially also wood borer damage in parts of the house, including the floor boards, making them weaker and affecting the joists. He told me it could either be an easy fix or a big fix. Either the plank just needs to be replaced and a block put under it, or it could have affected other floor boards underneath, joists etc. There's also no way under the house, so the carpet would need to be pulled up you can't really see the depression In the carpet (the broken plank of wood) by photograph :(
