We have gaps where some of our weatherboards join. Height varies between ground level and a tall single story house. It's an old house so it's taller than new houses. The ground on the north side is about 1m below the floor level, the other sides are level. The north side of the house has the most gaps including quite a few up high. There's about 0.7 - 0.8m between the side of the house and the fence making access slightly tricky, but I've done painting up there in the past it's not too bad. We've had a builder fit corner soakers and some flat soakers, but we've found more that need to be done, and that builder is not currently available. The soakers are aluminum so they can't be hammered into place like galv. The method recommended by the soaker manufacturer that seemed to work best last time is: - Put some modified silicone into the weatherboard gap to seal it - Use a multi-tool to make a gap above the weatherboard and perhaps underneath where it wraps around - Put silicone onto the edges of the soaker and put it into place - Silicone around the soaker / weatherboard joins to seal properly I'm looking for a good job, not the cheapest possible job. I want good quality silicone used, preferably Sika.

"Excellent communications - best I've had from a tradesman. Excellent quality of work - when a few minor issues were pointed out that were missed as they had worked until after dark they made them right. The job took longer than they expected but they stuck to their quoted price, which shows great integrity and honesty. Complete within schedule to a high standard, I'll definitely use them again for any building or painting work."
