Slat bed base

Hi, we have a king sized (antique) bed frame and would like to have a wooden slat bed base fit into or onto it to the sizing of a super king bed. At the moment, a slat bed frame would only be able to rest on the two side beams but I'm sure someone clever can come up with an idea to make it possible/strong enough to support two people and a super king mattress. To give you an idea what it looks like, please see attached photos.
