Kitchen Window Replacement

Need an existing awning window replaced for new. New window will be slightly narrower than existing window frame, so will need to re-gib surrounding areas, both internal and external. I am toying with the idea of installing a bay window where the previous awning window was. The bay window will be roughly the same dimensions as the old window. But am not sure what requirements will be necessary for the bay window to be retro-fitted properly and to code. Window will be supplied.
