Aluminium windows weather-tightening

I have some aluminium-frame sliding windows on the lower two bedrooms of my house. I think they are original to when the house was built (early 70s). I believe that they are not water-tight as, when rain comes from a certain direction, there is some pooling of water on the window sill. The job is to weather-tighten the windows so that this doesn't happen. There are three windows that will need to be looked at.
