Gas hob servicing

I bought an old house with an existing gas hob, it is heating up really slowly (flame is small). I think it may need servicing/ tuning. Not sure what can be done as it is much slower than the smaller gas hob I used to have. I use bottled gas, not sure if there is a connection there.
