Controlla-a-door motor working but not engaging with chain

Hi there I have a B&D contoll-a-door garage door opener. The remote and motor seem to be working OK but the motor is no longer engaging with the chain. I presume either the gearing has stripped or drive shaft is broken and needs replacement. If you have expertise in this area very much welcome your phone call to discuss.
