We’ve recently bought an old 1920s bungalow in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore that likely requires some re-piling / re-levelling. The building inspection report noted the following; 12. The jack studs on the R/H/S of the house have slightly bulged outwards this is evident in the weatherboard baseboard on the R/H/S, one could re-adjust these jack studs and secure in place. The foundation jack studs on the L/H/S are showing signs of age, and the second row in from the left the fourth jack stud from the back, requires some readjustment. We recommend having a house piler check the whole house, for the possibility of re-piling and leveling the house prior to any renovations taking place. The size of the house is roughly 160m2. We take possession of the property on the 27th November, and would like the work to start as soon as possible after this date. Given the property is not under our ownership, we’d need to organise a site visit with the current vendors. We don’t have photos of the current pilings.
