Piles - water damage?

Hi there, we have some piles on the side of our house that are exposed to the elements and have been getting soaked. The house was piled about 13 years ago. Could this cause an issue with the piles rotting or being damaged? The other sides of the house have vertical wood planks on them, presumably to prevent water touching the piles. I've also noticed tiny cracks through the house, any of these cause for concern?
