Opinion on piling

Job description

House Piling
Auckland

We are looking at purchasing a house at auction next week. It was built in the 1920s. A building report was carried out today. It has highlighted that the piles are on a lean, as well as only being connected to the foundation blocks by occasional nails. The building inspectors are unable to provide any input as to the significance of this issue. We'd be really grateful to get an informed opinion on whether this is something that needs to be rectified immediately, and a rough idea of the cost involved, so that we can make a decision as to whether to proceed with the purchase. If you're available to inspect the property in person before next week (10th) to give a more informed assessment, that would also be something we'd be interested in. Photos sent by the builder are also attached.

Great. Leo came to do the job at very short notice. Gave a very fair price, and explained things well. We are very grateful and would recommend him.
