Our floating timber floor (it’s a laminated product, I think about 3 years old, called ‘Bamboo’) has been installed in the kitchen area without sufficient room to expand. The boards are hard up against the kick boards of the kitchen cabinets on both sides of the kitchen are (about 1.2 m wide). As a result, the boards (about 4 boards wide so far and getting worse) are buckling up. I had one builder (who currently has no availability) have a look and they thought the kitchen kickboards should have been undercut to allow the floor to move underneath.
