Reflooring our home

Recently purchased our first home, however we need to remove the current old carpet thats in the living area to replace with waterproof wooden flooring as we have a small baby. The kitchen and entrance area are tiled, but I think it would look nicer if the whole floor was the same throughout. Also if the corridor to the bedrooms could be included and wouldn't up the cost too much we would love to have that laminated too, but depending on the price this may need to be done at a later date.
