Wood floor renovating

We have just bought a 100sq Meter house and need the floors sanded and refinished. The bedrooms and hall way are in good condition just with divots and such from people and furniture being moved. The kitchen, living room and mud room need a bit more rough The livingroom floor has some patch work where the old chimney was and the kitchen and mud room have cork over the top. Most of the cork in the kitchen has been removed but a decent amount of the glue remains. Mud room the cork has not been taken up yet. No one knows what kind of wood the floor is but the house was built in 1960
