Fix gate/fence

There is a wooden fence/gate that got old and was unable to open and shut. It eventually had to be taken off. I'd like an idea of how it could be fixed (the post it was attached to seems to be slightly warped) or replaced. Perhaps with a lighter gate, so the warping doesn't happen again.
