Install a gate across driveway

We have a gate that was previously in a different location on the property that is no longer being used. We want to get this gate installed at the top of the driveway (not at the entrance). The gate doesn't quite reach across the driveway, so will need to have a solid post put in to attach the gate to (on one end), and then less than half a meter of fencing to cover the gap to the fence. The other end of the gate should be able to be attached to an existing fence post.
