Job description

Timber Fencing & Gates
Christchurch

Published: 29 September 2024

Hello, straightforward remove and replace timber fence at the front of residence. Existing 1.8m high timber fence has performed ok, but it's ageing and it doesn't provide much privacy from the busy street. The preferred design for the new timber fence is 1.8m high, vertical palings (H3, dressed four sides) with minimal gap between boards, basic top capping, stainless steel fixings, assume new rails and posts needed, and no stain/paint. The fence length along the footpath is ~7.5m. There currently is no gate, and only a ~3.3m wide driveway opening where a new gate would go. Front property length ~10.8m in total (fence + gate). The existing fence has a few panels into the property along the drive to be removed, and the new fence and gate will simply be straight across the front property line The preferred design is a sliding gate, manually operated, metal frame with timber palings fixed to it to match fence. The driveway is currently gravel, and no issue if a concrete strip is needed for the gate. Existing plantings will be removed by others prior to the fence work. Access is good, although there will be pedestrians on the footpath adjacent to the fence. Water, waste, fibre lines can be marked ahead of time, and powerline is overhead. There's a few photos of the existing fence and one photo example of the new fence. Not an urgent job, but it would be nice to have it done between now and the end of 2024.
