Casement Stays for Cleaning Up

Hi there, i have about 11 window casement stays and their fixings that id like to get cleaned up so i can re-fit them after the windows have been freshly painted. They are tarnished and some have paint on them. Wondering if sand blasting them is an option to revitalise them. Can anyone help me? Many thanks Pippa
