I have 12 failed or faulty LED downlights in my home needing replacement. Unfortunately they are hardwired so not safe to DIY. Ideally I would like to replace with hardware that I can swap out myself in future (cost-dependent). Given the failure rate vs. the age of the house, I suspect crappy LEDs may have been installed in the original build. I would consider replacing all with more reliable models, again it will depend on cost.
