Step lights (with motion sensor) stopped working #2

The four step lights in our residential house have stopped working last week. The power supply to the PDL --- transformer (from 2012) is fine. There is a bit of an "electric smell" on the transformer. Most likely either the transformer and/or the sensor unit itself is broken. PDL --- is obsolete since 2017; allegedly replaced by SE SAE_UE_MS_CSA.
