Mysterious outage in Laundry

For some reason, everything in the laundry isn't working. The laundry is inside the house. The machine has stopped midway through a cycle, the power points are non-responsive. The light doesnt work and yet, on the switchboard, everything looks fine. So one room is out and the rest of the house is okay. Weird. While on this job, we have some outdoor 12 volt lighting that appears to have been severed somehow and needs reinstating, so two jobs. Part of it is working and part of it is not, I imagine my elderly mother took to the garden with a spade and severed some of the cables. Its hard to see the light is on or not in daylight though, not sure how you will figure it out but I can show you what parts are not working. Please bring a few cheap 12 V outdoor garden lights with you as extras as a few more would be useful to add to what is already there on the same stem/stretch.
